About EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a unique and powerful psychotherapy technique that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences, as well as other psychological difficulties.

It stimulates the brain’s natural ability to process and resolve emotional distress associated with past memories and experiences.

EMDR is typically known for its efficacy in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but is also very helpful with many other psychological difficulties. It works by accessing and changing the emotional aspects of problematic memories.

Evidence-based, it is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; the World Health Organisation; The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and many other professional bodies.
